Occupiers distribute contaminated water among Mariupol residents
In Mariupol, temporarily occupied by russian troops, the invaders distributed "drinking water" contaminated with bacteria to residents.
It was reported by the Mariupol City Council on Telegram, referring to the data of a laboratory study of the liquid.
The city council notes that volunteers took a sample of "drinking water" from Mariupol, distributed to people here.
According to the research of the bacteriological laboratory of the Zaporizhzhya Center for Disease Control and Prevention, coliform bacteria were found in the water. That is, it is mixed with fecal matter.
"According to sanitary norms and rules, general coliforms should be absent in drinking water. These bacteria belong to the bacteria of the Escherichia coli group. They are characteristic of surface water bodies. Therefore, this water is not sufficiently disinfected for human consumption," Vodokanal experts explained.
According to Oleksandr Lazarenko, director of the Center for Primary Health Care No. 3, such water cannot be drunk because there is a high risk of contamination with other pathogenic microorganisms that can lead to dysentery and cholera.
Therefore, Mariupol residents are advised to boil this water to avoid getting poisoned.
