A project aimed at helping women in employment and professional development is being launched in Ukraine

Career portal Happy Monday (NGO "Professionals of the Future") and UN Women in Ukraine are launching the project "Women For The Future". Its goal is to help Ukrainian women, who have lost their jobs and/or income due to the war, to find new opportunities for employment and professional development.

Due to the full-scale war, 39% of Ukrainians became unemployed and lost the opportunity to support themselves financially. Most of them are women who now have neither sources of income, nor opportunities for professional development. Despite the fact that they were left without important support and stability, Ukrainian women are ready to change and work on solving the problem. In particular, 53% of women want to find a new full-time job, and 88.3% are ready to allocate time for additional training and/or retraining (according to the results of an anonymous online survey of women among the Happy Monday audience, June 2022).

"The UN is concerned by the effects of the war on Ukraine's people, economy and labor market. It is estimated that 4.8 million jobs have been lost in Ukraine since the start of the war, and women make up a significant portion of these statistics. UN Women Ukraine is launching a project aimed at strengthening the economic capabilities of Ukrainian women, and engaging businesses to make conscious decisions for women's economic inclusion in times of war and in the recovery. Women For The Future project's goal is ambitious, and it requires greater accountability, and a sense of shared responsibility." – remarks Erika Kvapilova, UN Women Country Representative in Ukraine.

In response to this, the Happy Monday team together with UN Women in Ukraine are launching the project "Women For The Future". It will help Ukrainian women who have lost their jobs and/or income due to the war and are looking for employment opportunities.

"For more than 5 years, our team has been helping Ukrainian men and women to find their favorite job and build a conscious career. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, we continue to hold the career front, giving priority to those who have lost their jobs and sources of income. Unfortunately, the number of such people is very large, and we need to find systemic solutions to this problem. The  project "Women For The Future" aims to help women strengthen their economic capacity. We are planning to launch such initiatives as community development, career counseling, training programs on mastering digital skills, and strengthening women's self-reliance skills for effective employment. Another important area is working with companies and adapting the current opportunities of the private sector to the needs of women. And we are sincerely grateful to the international community and the government for supporting such initiatives." – says Anna Mazur, founder and CEO of the Happy Monday career portal (NGO "Professionals of the Future").

What awaits the participants of the project?
