Number of wounded Ukrainian children due to russian attack increased to 683

As of July 22, 358 children were killed, and more than 683 children were injured in Ukraine due to russia's full-scale armed aggression.

The Prosecutor General's Office reports this on Telegram with reference to the data of juvenile prosecutors.

"More than 1,041 children were injured in Ukraine due to russia's full-scale armed aggression in our country. As of July 22, 2022, the official number of child victims per day hasn't changed; it's 358. The number of injured has increased; it's more than 683," the message reads.

It is noted that these data aren't final, as work is ongoing to establish them in places of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

The most affected children were in the Donetsk region (361), Kharkiv region (194), Kyiv region (116), Chernihiv region (68), Luhansk region (61), Mykolaiv region (53), Kherson region (54), and Zaporizhzhia region (40).

It is reported that it became known about two more boys, 13 and 14 years old, who were wounded as a result of enemy shelling on July 20 in the city of Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region.

The bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the russian federation damaged 2,188 educational institutions. Of them, the russians destroyed 221.

As reported, all schools in Ukraine are checked before the start of the new academic year for compliance with security requirements.

In those educational institutions where bomb shelters with everything necessary have not been prepared, education in the offline format will not begin.

Since russia began its invasion, it has consistently targeted civilians and critical infrastructure. The death toll isn't certain because government officials, UN representatives, and other services responsible for counting the victims don't always have access to locations where people were killed due to hostilities. In an address to Luxembourg's parliament, President Volodymyr Zelensky said "at least tens of thousands" of Ukrainian civilians have died. In Mariupol alone, Ukrainian officials report more than 21,000 civilians dead.
