Iran changed narrative and accused NATO of starting war in Ukraine

The supreme and spiritual leader of Iran stated during the negotiations with putin that russia allegedly stopped NATO's actions in Ukraine with its invasion

Ukraine's position was voiced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman, Oleh Nikolenko, in a comment to Hromadske.

As noted, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called such a statement a justification for russian aggression.

Nikolenko reminded that since the beginning of the full-scale russia's war, Iran publicly declared a position of neutrality and advocated a ceasefire and political-diplomatic settlement.

Therefore, the Ukrainian side is now concerned about the change in rhetoric, says the spokesman.

"Tolerating russia's aggressive actions not only encourages it to continue its unprovoked war against the people of Ukraine. It also lays the groundwork for destabilizing peace and security in other regions of the world," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement emphasized.

Any accusations regarding the alleged preparation of an attack on the russian federation were called baseless and manipulative in the diplomatic service.

They also urged the Iranian side to refrain from statements or steps that would fuel russia's aggression against Ukraine.

It should be noted that the Iranian leader supported the kremlin's rhetoric and said that if the russian federation had not launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, then NATO would have allegedly attacked russia.

"If the way is open for NATO, then this organization does not see borders.

If it had not been stopped in Ukraine, after some time, the Alliance would have started a war under the pretext of Crimea," he said.
