Ukraine received another $1.7 billion in grant aid from the USA, Ukraine's PM says

The Ukrainian budget received another 1.7 billion dollars in grant aid

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on Twitter.

The financial aid came from the Trust Fund of the World Bank and the United States Agency for International Development.

"This is the second US grant in the last two weeks, the total amount of aid is 3 billion dollars.

Grateful to the USA and President Biden for incredible support," the head of government wrote.

Financial assistance to Ukraine

The National Bank of Ukraine reported on June 21 that international partners had transferred 7.4 billion dollars to cover the state budget deficit since russia's beginning of the full-scale war against Ukraine.

The total volume of declared financial assistance to Ukraine is 30 billion dollars.

The National Bank says that financing defense and social expenditures and supporting the economy will depend critically on international aid and its timely arrival.

In particular, $5 billion monthly aid is needed to close the budget deficit.

The bank noted that Ukraine continued to service its national debt on time, and the amount of payments for it during the coming year is estimated by the NBU as moderate.

As Rubryka reported, the Council of the European Union supported the allocation of 1 billion euros of macro-financial assistance for Ukraine.

"€1 billion to Ukraine! After a sped-up adoption, the EU will provide the war-stricken state with macro-financial assistance. Money will go to different areas. Czech presidency fulfills its promises, and even more help will follow," the Czech presidency announced on Twitter.
