The day before, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had telephone conversations with Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky in which they discussed the problems of exporting grain from Ukraine and the need to create corridors in the Black Sea.
On July 5, Erdogan said that in the coming days, he would "strengthen negotiations" on unblocking the grain export from Ukraine by sea and expected progress "within ten days."
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, warned against hopes for a quick agreement on humanitarian corridors for grain. Kuleba said that the negotiations are focused on which routes traffic can take and how to secure vessels.
