President Andrzej Duda and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda will meet on Thursday at the Suwałki corridor, near russia's Kaliningrad Oblast and Belarus

European Pravda reports.

As noted in the publication, Duda and the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, will visit the mobile command post of the North East multinational division on the Suwałki corridor.

There they will meet with the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nauseda, and the Minister of National Defense of Lithuania, Arvydas Anušauskas.

In addition to visiting the mobile command post, Presidents Duda and Nauseda will see the logistics battalion of Grand Duke Vytautas of Lithuania in Lithuania.

The command of the North East multinational division is located in the town of Elbląg. Its task is to coordinate the activities of four multinational NATO battalion battle groups deployed as part of the enhanced forward presence in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

We will remind you that last week at the summit in Madrid, a decision was made to strengthen NATO's forward presence on NATO's north-eastern and south-eastern flanks.

Battalions should be ready to deploy to the brigade level if needed.

Many experts call the Suwałki corridor strategic for the entire NATO. This gap is around the cities of Suwałki, Augustów, and Sejny, connecting Poland with Lithuania and other Baltic countries and simultaneously separates the Kaliningrad oblast of russia from Belarus.

Observers believe that the Suwałki corridor is a potential target for an attack by the russian federation in the event of a possible attack.

As reported, a tank unit from Britain will arrive in Poland this week as part of measures to strengthen NATO's eastern flank.

We will remind you that on June 30, Poland completed the construction of more than 180 km of the fence on the border with Belarus.
