It was reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.
As Shmyhal reported, it happened during the discussion on the practical implementation of Ukraine's Recovery Plan within the framework of the conference in the Swiss city of Lugano.
The Prime Minister handed the application for joining the OECD to the Secretary General of the OECD, Mathias Korman. He expressed hope that the consideration of the application would take place as soon as possible.
"The current support and future work on Ukraine's recovery and accession to the EU, the beginning of which was supported by all EU member states, will be based on the completion of structural reforms in Ukraine — an area where OECD support is of fundamental importance," Shmyhal said.
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is an intergovernmental organization that unites 38 member states, which account for more than 62% of world GDP. OECD members declare their commitment to the principles of democracy and market economy.
