DW writes about this, Rubryka reports.
The main topics of conversation between the leaders of the two European countries were:
- war in Ukraine
- further measures to support Kyiv.
Also, the leaders of Germany and France discussed, in particular, taking measures to achieve energy independence in Europe. They also discussed the problems of defense and strategic resources.
In addition, the politicians discussed the next meeting of the Council of Ministers of Germany and France.
"Thank you very much for the invitation, dear Emmanuel Macron," Scholz wrote in French on Twitter.
"Whether it's the G7 meeting in Elmau, or the NATO summit, or Paris, it's good that we continue to exchange views on many important topics of our time," he added.
This meeting between Macron and Scholz in Paris is the second official event of this kind in the French capital since Olaf Scholz took office as Chancellor of Germany in December 2021.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, said that it was Macron who helped convince Scholz of the need to grant Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership.
