French journalists come under russian fire in Donetsk region

Journalists of the French TV channel France 24 came under fire from russian invaders in the Donetsk region

As noted, French television crews, together with rescuers, delivered water to civilians in the city of Sloviansk. During the filming, explosions began to sound. Work on the video report was interrupted by enemy shelling.

"Residents who came to get water delivered by emergency workers, our guys, and French journalists came under fire," the message reads.

The State Emergency Service emphasized that the journalists did not cut footage of the russian shelling from the video.

Also, Suspilne journalists came under fire from the russian invaders in the center of Lysychansk, in the Luhansk region. "Our journalists Khrystyna Havriliuk and Taras Ibrahimov, together with their colleagues, came under fire in the center of Lysychansk. They were evacuated by the military of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, no one was injured," they reported.

Even earlier, BBC reporter Orla Guerin and the film crew came under fire from the russians in the east of Ukraine.

"We just had to take more cover, get more protection inside our armored car, there was an incoming attack. The troops say it was a cluster bomb, and it landed less than a mile away. Now, the last half an hour or so there have been constant warnings about incoming fire. We had to run and take cover. The troops have taken cover, and we have heard plenty outgoing fire," the journalist said.

As Rubryka reported, on May 30 in the Luhansk region, a journalist from the French BFM TV, who was preparing a report on the evacuation, was killed as a result of the shelling of evacuation buses by the russians. 

"Today in the Luhansk region, the occupiers disrupted the evacuation from the war zones by firing at a car that was driving through local areas. French journalist Frédéric Leclerc died of a fatal wound during this shelling. He worked for the French BFM TV channel. A little over a month ago, I gave an interview on this very TV channel. This was my first interview with French media representatives during the full-scale war. My sincere condolences to Frédéric's colleagues and relatives. He became the 32nd media person who died after February 24," Zelensky emphasized.
