Swiss government imposed sanctions against russia

The Swiss government has imposed sanctions against russia for aggression against Ukraine by analogy with the sixth package of EU restrictive measures.

It is stated in a press release of the Swiss Federal Council.

"By a decision of June 29, Switzerland will implement new measures taken by the European Union on June 3 in response to russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine (sixth package of sanctions)," the statement said.

It is noted that the sanctions include an embargo on crude oil and certain types of oil products of russian origin.

"By analogy with EU measures, the purchase, import, transit, and transportation (of these products – ed.) in or inside Switzerland are prohibited," the statement said.

The Swiss government has said that the oil embargo will be introduced in Switzerland gradually until the beginning of 2023, after transitional periods, as is the case with the European Union.

In addition, in the financial sector, the provision of auditing and consulting services to companies is prohibited, as well as the advertising of products in a number of russian media, including russia Today and Sputnik.

The document enters into force on June 29 at 7 pm Kyiv time.
