Indonesian President Joko Widodo arrives in Kyiv with peacekeeping intentions

Rubryka reports, citing the Twitter account of the President of Indonesia.

According to Joko Widodo, he and a small group of people will arrive in Kyiv by train from Przemyśl, Poland.

"We started this peacekeeping mission with good intentions. I hope it will become easier," the Indonesian president wrote.

As the media reported, Indonesian President and G20 chairman Joko Widodo is in Europe this week, he said, on a "mission" to stop the war between global breadbaskets russia and Ukraine to alleviate a potential global food crisis.

Widodo said he would urge Volodymyr Zelensky to open negotiations and ask vladimir putin to declare a ceasefire.

"After Germany, I will visit Ukraine," Jokowi told reporters before departing for Germany. "My mission is to call on Ukrainian President Zelensky to open space for dialogue in the context of peace, to build peace, because the war must stop and the supply chain of food must be reactivated. I will invite president putin to open space for dialogue and as soon as possible enter a ceasefire and stop the war."

As Rubryka reported, the Indonesian authorities announced that President Joko Widodo plans to visit Ukraine and russia in late June.

Indonesia will host the Group of 20 (G20) summit on the island of Bali in November 2022.

After russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Joko Widodo did not cancel putin's invitation to the summit but invited Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to a G20 meeting. putin is going to take part in the conference.

Because of the possible presence of the russian president, the composition of the participants in the meeting is questionable. However, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, spoke out against the boycott of the G20 summit, even if putin took part in it.
