The "green" boiler house in Kyiv region provided 40% of the city's needs
In Slavutych, they plan to completely abandon the use of natural gas in housing and communal services
The city of Slavutych in the Kyiv region provides 40% of the needs for heating and hot water thanks to a solid fuel boiler on biomass.
The boiler house, which has a capacity of 10.5 MW, saves 7 million cubic meters of natural gas, according to the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine on Facebook.
The boiler house serves kindergartens, schools, medical institutions and other social facilities. It is owned by ClearEnergy and is one of the most powerful boilers in Ukraine.
In Slavutych, it is planned to build a biopower plant with a total capacity of 12.5 MW, which will produce 25 GCal / h of thermal energy. In addition, about 1,500 hectares of energy willow are planned to be planted with wood raw materials to provide the boiler house and the bio CHP plant.
"In Slavutych, it is planned to create a" green "energy cluster so that the city can completely abandon the use of natural gas in housing and communal services," – said in a material on the "green" transition of the city.
A memorandum of cooperation between the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and the Slavutych City Council was signed in 2017.
