Ukrainians raised money for two Bayraktar combat drones for Ukrainian army in one day

TV presenter and volunteer Serhii Prytula, together with blogger Ihor Lachenkov, announced fundraising for three Bayraktar combat drones for the Ukrainian military

The organizers of this idea have set an ambitious goal to raise 500 million hryvnias in one week.

However, in one day, they managed to raise money for two drones.

Fundraising within the People's Bayraktar project began at 9 am on June 22, and the organizers managed to raise UAH 296 million in one day.

"We add what our fund has allocated for the project, and we have 366 million hryvnias!

It means that out of the desired three, we have already collected funds for two Bayraktars! Two in one day!

People, you are doing something fantastic and writing a history!" Prytula wrote in a message.

Earlier, Prytula and Lachenkov announced they intended to raise 500 million hryvnias ($15 million) in one week for three Turkish strike operational and tactical drones, Bayraktar, to help the Ukrainian Air Force.

The Serhii Prytula Charity Foundation called this fundraising campaign "the biggest for Ukraine."

"Every dollar, euro, the hryvnia, or cryptocurrency is important in our struggle for Ukrainian freedom," they said.

This fundraiser was supported by several Ukrainian activists and prominent figures, such as Ukrainian footballer Oleksandr Zinchenko.

So, in just the first 12 hours of fundraising, it was possible to involve 141 million hryvnias. Details for fundraising are listed on the charity fund's website.

Bayraktar TB2 is an unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) developed in Turkey. It can accelerate up to 200 km per hour and ascend to over 8 km. Bayraktar drops air bombs and guided anti-tank missiles and can be in the air for 24 hours.

Bayraktar is fast, easy, maneuverable, deadly, and easy to control. Because of their characteristics, these drones pose an extraordinary danger to the enemy army. It is difficult for the occupiers to neutralize this reconnaissance and strike drone because it is almost impossible to detect.
