A pedestrian boulevard with rain gardens to be created in Lviv
A part of Chornovola Avenue in Lviv will be overhauled. The 1.2-kilometer section of the avenue from the ring on Lypinsky Street to Varshavska Street will become a pedestrian boulevard with children's and sports areas, a fountain, and a square.
It was reported by the Department of Urban Development of the Lviv City Council.
The boulevard has to become the largest public space for residents of the northern district of the city. Its concept was developed in the urban planning department of the city council.
According to the concept, the boulevard will have children's playgrounds and sports areas with a skatepark and tennis tables, summer playgrounds, a linear square, bicycle crossings, as well as rain gardens (artificial depressions in the terrain, planted with moisture-loving perennial plants that collect rainwater from the territory).
Local businesses will join the implementation of the project, several entrepreneurs have already expressed their will.
