Zelensky: Ukraine introduces visa policy with russia from July 1
President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that from July 1, 2022, Ukraine would introduce a visa entry regime for russian citizens.

"Ukraine introduces a visa regime for russian citizens. And today (June 17 – ed.), the Cabinet of Ministers must adopt this critical decision, the resolution 'On termination of the agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Russian Federation on visa-free travel for citizens of Ukraine and the Russian Federation and application of some international agreements with Ukraine.'"
According to the planned decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, from July 1, 2022, Ukraine will introduce a visa regime for russian citizens.
The President added that the government had worked out the issue to "counteract unprecedented threats to Ukraine's national security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity."
According to UP sources, if a russian is in russia and wants to go to Ukraine, they go to the visa center; if abroad, they go to the Ukrainian embassy or visa center and get an entry visa there.

On May 26, President Volodymyr Zelensky supported a petition to introduce a visa regime for russian citizens in Ukraine and instructed Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to work on the issue.
"Thank you to everyone who signed this petition for your active citizenship. Amid russia's full-scale aggression, the issue raised here is important and urgent, so I support the need to strengthen the control over the entry of russian citizens into Ukraine. A proper order has been sent to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal requesting him to work on this issue."
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that he had sufficient opportunities to bring the idea of introducing a visa regime with russia to a positive result.
