Starlink Ukraine has received an operator's license

The Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, wrote about this on Telegram.

"The company has just been entered in the Register of Providers of Electronic Communications Networks and Services at number 1.

The SpaceX representative office will soon start active work in Ukraine!" said Fedorov.

A Starlink representative office appeared in Ukraine at the end of April. The legal entity is registered under the name Starlink Ukraine. In mid-April, Fedorov announced that Starlink had begun work on opening a representative office in Ukraine.

As reported by Rubryka, on February 26, Digital Minister Mykhailo Fedorov asked Elon Musk to provide Ukraine with Starlink. "The next day we received a positive response from him, and a week later, the first 500 Starlink stations with free firmware for Ukraine were in our warehouse," Fedorov added.

According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, currently, more than 10,000 stations help the Ukrainian Armed Forces to keep in touch and carry out special operations. They also support the operation of critical energy and telecommunications facilities, health care facilities, and even the sowing campaign, as well as bring the liberated areas back to life. 

Internet quality from Starlink in eastern Ukraine is worse than in the west because Ukraine doesn't yet have its own Starlink ground station. The nearest stations are in Poland, Lithuania, and Turkey. Ukraine plans to build one after the war.
