European Pancreatic Club Meeting to be hosted by Ukraine

For a few days (June 22-25, 2022), Ukraine will become not only a European but also a global center for discussing new progressive ideas and breakthroughs in the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic diseases, exchange of knowledge, and professional experience.

This year, due to the war, the European Pancreatic Club Meeting will take place online. It is a unique event that will bring together about 2,000 professionals from all over the world. The pancreatology specialists from 52 countries have registered to participate in the event.

Although usually, the registration for meetings of such level is not free of charge, the organizers this year made an exception for the host country. Ukrainian doctors can join the event for free. It is a great opportunity for our doctors to learn the latest news in the field of pancreatic diseases. They will also be able to join the discussions and gain new knowledge on fundamental and practical issues in this field.

The Ukrainian pancreatology specialists will present their research at the meeting. They will receive a worthy assessment from authoritative reviewers. Many works were presented by Shalimov National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.
High-level research was performed by scientists and doctors from many Ukrainian cities (Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Ternopil, Mykolaiv, Chernivtsi, etc.). Unfortunately, no work was presented from Lviv and Dnipro, although the Institute of Gastroenterology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine is in Dnipro.

Stars of world pancreatology, professors from European countries, the USA, Japan, and Australia will share the results of their research in gastroenterology, surgery, and endoscopy. Their achievements allow them to help patients as effectively as possible. The scientists will cover the basic knowledge about the physiology of the pancreas.

Before the meeting, there will be a training course on the role of intestinal microbiota in the pathology of the pancreas, liver, and digestive tract (head – prof. Dorofeyev).

The Ukrainian-Italian team prepared complex technical support.

Meeting participants will receive an official document on participation and medical education (European and American credits).

The European Pancreatology Club has a conservative approach to choosing the host country of the annual meeting. So far, such events have been held exclusively in EU countries. This year, for the first time in history, a former post-Soviet state, independent Ukraine, hosts the Meeting.

In addition, for the first time, the European Pancreatology Club is headed by a Ukrainian scientist – Doctor of Medicine, professor Natalia Hubergrits. This recognition is the result of many years of hard work, numerous publications, and scientific works, especially in English, and the highest professional and human reputation. For the first time, a Ukrainian scientist heads the great European Medical Association for a year and is the President of the European Pancreatology Club. Natalia honorably bears her surname, which belongs to the famous medical dynasty.

For more than 20 years, Natalia has pursued and promoted the idea of holding a European Club Meeting in Ukraine. The fact that our country will host the best pancreatology specialists from around the world is, without exaggeration, an unprecedented event for the medical community of Ukraine and Europe.
