British intelligence: russia achieved none of its strategic objectives in Ukraine in 100 days of war

In 100 days of its invasion, russia has failed to achieve any strategic goal in Ukraine.

A recent intelligence review of the British Ministry of Defense, dedicated to the 100 days of the war, stated this.

The ministry stated that russian troops had failed to achieve their initial goals of capturing Kyiv and Ukrainian centers of government. russia's operations were repulsed by persistent Ukrainian resistance and russia's inability to secure Hostomel's airfield in the first 24 hours.

After failing the initial plan due to erroneous planning assumptions and poor tactical execution, russia adapted its operational plan, focusing on the Donbas.

russia is now achieving tactical success in the Donbas; russian forces have created and maintained momentum and now seem to have the initiative over Ukrainian resistance, the report said.

russia controls more than 90% of the Luhansk region and is likely to establish complete control in the next two weeks.

russia has achieved these recent tactical successes through significant loss of resources and the concentration of forces and fire on one part of the overall campaign.

At the same time, russia was unable to create a maneuver or movement on other fronts or directions, and they all turned to defense.

"Measured against Russia's original plan, none of the strategic objectives have been achieved. In order for Russia to achieve any form of success will require a continued huge investment of manpower and equipment and is likely to take considerable further time," the review said.
