EU officially abolished all duties and taxes on Ukrainian exports
Decisions previously adopted by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, which should help rebuild Ukrainian businesses affected by russian aggression, are coming into force in the European Union.
It was announced on Friday, June 3, on the Official Journal of the EU website.
Regulatory rules abolishing all duties and taxes on Ukrainian exports to the European market will take effect on June 4, 2022. They are expected to be in force until June 5, 2023.
"This is an unprecedented step to boost Ukraine's economy, severely weakened by russia's aggression. It will help alleviate the difficult situation of Ukrainian producers and exporters in the face of russia's military invasion," said a spokeswoman for the European Commission on Agriculture and Trade, Miriam Garcia Ferrer.
The abolition of customs duties applies to exports of industrial products, fruits, and vegetables from Ukraine. It also extends to anti-dumping duties on steel imports. Thus, Ukrainian goods can be imported into the EU without paying duties. And the anti-dumping duty imposed on Ukrainian goods this year will not be levied after the regulation expires.
