According to Rubryka, it was announced by the campaign coordinator, presenter Andrius Tapinas and Lithuanian defense minister Arvydas Anušauskas
The Head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense noted that Turkey had agreed to give Bayraktar free of charge.
It is unbelievable, but Turkey has just agreed to give Bayraktar, for which the Lithuanians raised money free of charge.
"It's just incredible! The funds raised will be used to purchase the necessary ammunition, and the remaining amount will also go to support Ukraine, " Anushauskas said.
"The Turks were so impressed by the desire of the Lithuanian people to help Ukraine… that Turkey decided to grant the Bayraktar TB2 drone with all the optics and necessary equipment.
Now we have Bayraktar, we have the equipment for it, and we still have 4.4 million euros.
"We thank the Minister of Defense Arvydas Anušauskas and his Deputy Vilius Semeška for their leadership and the successful negotiations. And of course, we thank Turkey for such a wonderful gift in response to a small initiative of the TV channel in a small country," Tapinas wrote on Facebook.
According to the presenter, the Turkish side also promised to prepare the transfer as soon as possible, approximately within three weeks. They will decorate it with the colors of Lithuanian and Ukrainian flags.
Andrews Tapinas specified that 1.5 million euros of the raised amount would be used by the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense to buy ammunition for the drone.
Another 4.4 million will be directed to other assistance to Ukraine.
"Since all this money belongs to you, we will probably conduct a survey and decide together," he added.
New details are to be announced next morning at a special briefing by the Ministry of Defense.
