Scholz: solution to EU oil embargo standoff will be found "sooner or later"
Germany believes that the European Union will reach a consensus on the oil embargo against russia at the next EU summit.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated, reports Sky News.
"It is more likely that the agreement (on the sixth package of sanctions – ed.) will be reached at the next summit in June," said the head of the German government.
He also noted that a consensus on the oil embargo, the main controversial point in the EU's sixth sanctions package, would be reached sooner or later.
The EU summit will take place on June 25-26. Granting Ukraine the EU candidate country status will be considered.
At the same time, the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, stated that the European Union could agree on the sixth package of sanctions against russia today.
