Heavy combat for Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk continues in the Luhansk region; the russian military has entered the outskirts of Sievierodonetsk, the head of the region said.
The head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Serhii Haidai, reports.
"The russians entered the outskirts of Sievierodonetsk, killing two citizens and injuring five. It applies to the north-eastern and south-eastern suburbs of the city.
The enemy has used all possible weapons and uses aircraft. Heavy battles for Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk are ongoing. However, our military is firmly holding the defense to prevent the enemy from entering the inner country," he said.
russian shells killed two Sievierodonesk residents and wounded five others. Most of them are residents of one block in the old part of the city. According to Haidai, they were preparing food in the yard when the shelling began.
Two residents of Syrotyne were also seriously injured.
All the wounded received first aid and are now in hospitals in the Donetsk region.
The head of the region says at least 12 houses were destroyed in Sievierodonetsk on May 29, 18 homes in Lysychansk, 10 buildings in Vrubivka plus a community center, three in Zolote, and two in Nyrkovo, Mykolaivka, and Viktorivka.
Meanwhile, the russians are transferring ammunition and equipment in large quantities to the Sievierodonetsk area.
Haidai added that 14 enemy attacks had been repulsed in the past 24 hours; the Ukrainian troops had destroyed 2 artillery systems, 11 units of armored combat vehicles, and 10 enemy vehicles. Air defense units shot down two cruise missiles and three Kub-type UAVs.
