Zelensky: In occupied territories, Russians follow "Nazi playbook"
Invaders operating in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories torture local officials and, if the latter agree to cooperate, sign them up and hire them.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the Dutch outlet Nieuwsuur.
"The policy Russia applies everywhere is switching off television, switching off certain internet providers, and turning on their own TV – that's when the information war starts. After that, these people, all local authorities, are tortured – they're all held in basements, they either get killed or tortured demonstratively, specifically for other people to see. It's like in Middle Ages!" stated the head of state.
He stressed that the Russian military operates everywhere according to the same scheme, as if they have a "Nazi playbook."
"They (the invaders – ed.) torture them, get rid of them, or, if local authorities agree to work for them, they sign papers and let them work," Zelensky said.
The president added that the invaders are trying to introduce Russian as the language of instruction in schools across occupied settlements.
