President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky meets with Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin

She visited Ukraine for the first time.

Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the Government and the people of Finland for their support. In particular, for five packages of defense aid, sanctions against russia, and financial and humanitarian assistance.

The head of state stressed the need to introduce the next, sixth package of sanctions against russia by the EU as soon as possible. The key elements of the democratic community's sanctions policy development against the aggressor were discussed separately.

The President noted Finland's support for Ukraine's future membership in the European Union and necessary EU decisions to achieve this goal was vital.

Volodymyr Zelensky noted the importance of Sanna Marin visiting Irpin and Bucha.

"It was tough to look at everything that russia has done with these cities. Many people have died. At the same time, the heroic spirit of the Ukrainian people, who are fighting for their freedom and the entirety of Europe, is admirable," said the Prime Minister of Finland.

Sanna Marin stressed that her country and people today understood Ukrainians very well, given their historical experience.

The President of Ukraine also informed the Prime Minister of Finland about the comprehensive work on planning our state's reconstruction after the victory.

Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the people of Ukraine were counting on Finland's active participation and invited them to take a Ukrainian region, city, or industry under their patronage for post-war reconstruction.

As reported by Rubryka, on May 26, the Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, arrived in Ukraine to visit Irpin and Bucha.

Secretary of the Irpin City Council Anzhela Makeieva showed the head of the Finnish government the consequences of the "russian world" left behind by the occupiers.

"We discussed assistance in our city's reconstruction because Irpin suffered the most significant destruction of more than 70% of the city and became Kyiv's shield.

Thank you for your unwavering international position on Ukraine's territorial integrity, for introducing stricter sanctions against russia, for military support and assistance," Makeieva said.
