russian army's actions led to partial flooding of Nova Kakhovka, Kherson under threat

The occupiers didn't let repair two hydro units at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, which led to the partial flooding of Nova Kakhovka.

Deputy Chief of Ukraine's General Staff Main Operations Department, Oleksii Hromov, announced this, quoted by Interfax-Ukraine.

Currently, one of the control points of russia's southern military district and the 49th enemy army are deployed at the Kakhovka HPP. The russians don't allow maintenance specialists to two hydro units at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.

"The occupiers are not making any efforts to keep the captured facilities safe, which could lead to an environmental catastrophe. Currently, large volumes of water are being dumped at the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant occupied by the russians, as two hydro units are not working, which the occupiers don't let repair. It has already led to the partial flooding of Nova Kakhovka, the dam, and the local park. The surrounding villages and the occupied city of Kherson are under threat," Hromov said.
