Caesar howitzers at frontline: Commander-in-Chief reports on how Ukrainian defenders mastered new artillery
Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, published a photo of the Caesar self-propelled artillery units
Rubryka reports, referring to Zaluzhnyi's Facebook.
The Commander-in-Chief noted that the army already used self-propelled artillery at the frontline.
"Caesar howitzers are already at the frontline.
Our gunners quickly mastered the new artillery, in fact, in 2-3 hours.
Sincere thanks to the partners for their help! It serves to bring our Victory closer," Zaluzhnyi wrote.
According to the commander-in-chief, Caesar is a new-generation self-propelled artillery unit. It allows you to hit the enemy at 20 km or more from the front line with high accuracy.
Zaluzhnyi added that artillery, reserves, and enemy control points were at this distance. Destroying them reduces the enemy's offensive potential.
"This self-propelled artillery is on a wheeled chassis, making it mobile and maneuverable. The unit is equipped with an automated self-anchoring and homing system.
It has a reasonably high rate of fire: 5 shots per minute and high accuracy. It can use several types of 155 mm ammunition used in NATO countries.
"Caesar provides the crew's survivability and comfortable working conditions. It makes it possible to act per the fire-maneuver-fire algorithm," said the Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief.
As Rubryka reported, France sent Caesar self-propelled artillery units to Ukrainian forces.
According to the General Staff, the russian army continues to conduct an offensive toward Sievierodonetsk.
As Rubryka previously reported, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed almost 20 units of military equipment and about 180 occupiers in the east over the past 24 hours.
