Poland's President Duda: EU should open its doors for Ukraine in June

The President of Poland Andrzej Duda stated that Ukraine The European Union should open its doors to Ukraine.

He said this during a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, European Truth reports.

"A great appeal to the entire European Union, to the EU leaders: today Ukraine needs our signal, the opening of European doors for the state, for Ukrainian society, which wants to be part of European communities," Duda said.

He added that the decision on Ukraine's status as a candidate for EU membership at the June summit is of great importance.

Duda also said the need to increase sanctions on Russia.

"How can the world help end the war peacefully? Only sanctions, only firm pressure, only isolating Russia, expelling it from the international community, economic. This is the question of the sixth package of sanctions within the European Union, which must be implemented. This is very important. Here I am addressing those who still have doubts today: forget about business as usual, "Duda added.

He added that it is necessary to create such conditions when the war will ultimately cease to be beneficial for Russia and will be a threat to itself.

"Apart from economic sanctions, there are constant politically prestigious sanctions: Russia's exclusion from various international organizations, exclusion from international sports associations, exclusion from prestigious world events. These must be coordinated actions," the Polish president said.
