Approximately 20–25% of Kharkiv region’s territory currently under occupation

About 25% of the territory of the Kharkiv region is still under russian occupation.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Sinehubov stated this in an interview with Focus.

"Approximately 20-25% of the territory of the Kharkiv region is currently under occupation. Initially, 22 territorial communities were occupied, now less; this figure is decreasing virtually daily. However, the further we move, the harder it gets because the enemy is now focused on maintaining positions. That is, this is not a scenario of Kyiv, Sumy, or Chernihiv, when the enemy has already realized that they lost this battle and left, changing tactics. They stay here, and we, at the cost of our defenders, fight for every meter of our territory," he said.

He noted that our defenders counterattacked in the direction of Tsyrkuny and recaptured the settlement, and in some places even reached the state borderline.

"In the north-eastern direction, our defenders are also actively fighting for the liberation of territories. This is Staryi Saltiv, Vovchansk direction. And let me remind you that Vovchansk and Kupiansk are those settlements that have been occupied since the beginning of hostilities," said Sinehubov.

According to the regional administration, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in the region, about 800 people, including almost 30 children, were killed.
