As reported by Rubryka, Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk noted that the humanitarian operation to save the Ukrainian defenders of Mariupol was underway.

To save lives, 52 severely wounded Ukrainian servicemen were evacuated on May 16.

It is stated that after the stabilization of their condition, the authorities plan to exchange them for russian prisoners of war.

Work is underway on the following stages of the humanitarian operation.

The press service of the National Guard published photos of wounded soldiers who were taken out of Azovstal.
As Rubryka reported, on May 16, buses with Ukrainian servicemen left the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.
