The defenders of Mariupol carried out the order, delayed the overwhelming forces of the enemy for 82 days, and allowed the Ukrainian army to regroup.

This is stated in a statement by the Azov Regiment.

"The defenders of Mariupol carried out the order, despite all the difficulties, withdrew the overwhelming forces of the enemy for 82 days and allowed the Ukrainian army to regroup, train more personnel and receive numerous weapons from partner countries," the statement said.

It is noted that no weapon will work without professionally trained servicemen, which makes them the most valuable element of the army.

"To save lives, the entire Mariupol garrison is implementing the approved decision of the Supreme Military Command and hopes for the support of the Ukrainian people," the Azov Regiment said.

In addition, the commander of the Azov Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Denys Prokopenko, recorded a video message in which he stated that there were no completely safe plans and operations in the war, there were always risks.

"You are always at risk, the main thing is to realize whether all the risks have been calculated, whether Plan B has been worked out, whether you have given yourself completely to this plan, which must combine the task and maximize the lives and health of personnel. Maybe, that's why the war is art, not science when you've completed the task and saved the maximum number of people.
