German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbok warned against Ukraine's demands for the supply of Western fighter jets at the beginning of the G7 foreign ministers' meeting.

DPA reported this.

Baerbock pointed to the Western states' rejection of Ukraine's call for a no-fly zone over the country.

She added that "we have also taken a clear position" on the supply of materials for aircraft. According to the United States, the transfer of spare parts for military aircraft to Ukraine has allowed Ukraine to increase its air force by 20 planes.

The foreign minister said that during her visit to Kyiv on Tuesday, she "talked about how we can support Ukraine, especially in terms of its resilience, its ability to defend itself, without helping NATO become a party to this war."

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba has been invited to join the talks on Friday.

During a recent visit to Germany, he called for the supply of modern aircraft and missile defense systems to Ukraine.
