Germany begins to reopen its embassy in Kyiv
Germany is gradually resuming its embassy work in the Ukrainian capital.
This was stated by Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock during her visit to Ukraine, Tagesspiegel reports.
She noted that the embassy would open with a "minimum presence" of diplomats and will initially work in a limited format, but with the presence of Ambassador Anka Feldhusen. The embassy closed in Kyiv shortly before russia's full-scale invasion.
As previously reported, she visited Bucha and promised to support Germany in investigating russian war crimes.
Note
Annalena Baerbock is the first German government official to visit Kyiv since February 24. The day before, the speaker of the Bundestag, and before that, the leader of the opposition CDU Friedrich Merz arrived on a visit.
