russians resume attacks of Azovstal, battle for Rubizhne continues, General Staff reports
Fighting continues in Rubizhne, Luhansk region; the enemy resumed shelling of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports.
"The battle for Rubizhne continues in the Sievierodonetsk direction. The enemy is trying to improve the tactical position, seize the city and create favorable conditions for further development of offensive operations in the areas of Lyman and Sievierodonetsk. russians attempted to storm the settlement of Voievodivka. They were unsuccessful, and resigned from their previous positions," the statement reads.
In the city of Mariupol, despite the declared 'ceasefire,' (enemy – ed.) resumed shelling and assault on the plant of Azovstal.
We observe the occupiers' greatest activity on Monday in Sloboda and Donetsk directions.
There is a high probability of missile strikes on civilian and military infrastructure throughout Ukraine.
In the Volyn and Polissia areas, the enemy did not take active action, and no signs of offensive groups forming were found.
The situation in the Siveria direction has not changed. The enemy keeps FSB border guards at checkpoints and in the border areas of the Bryansk and Kursk regions of the russian federation. They carry out engineering, fortification, and equipment of defense positions near the state border of Ukraine.
The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Sloboda direction. They lead the defense. The main efforts continue to focus on preventing the advance of Ukrainian troops toward the state border of Ukraine.
In the Izium direction, the material and technical means are being replenished, and units are being prepared for further offensive operations in the Izium-Barvinkove and Izium-Sloviansk directions. The enemy is conducting air reconnaissance.
In the Lyman direction, they are trying to advance in the areas of Oleksandrivka and Shandryholove.
In the Bakhmut direction, they fought unsuccessfully in the area of the settlement of Toshkivka.
In the Avdiivka direction, they are trying to improve the tactical situation in the areas of the settlements of Novoselivka, Novoselivka Druha, and Verkhnotoretske. The fighting continues.
In the Novopavlovsk and Zaporizhzhia directions, certain enemy units are regrouping troops to prepare for further action. It's expected they will increase this group at the expense of units that performed tasks in the area of Mariupol.
In the Pivdennyi Buh and Tavria directions, the enemy regrouped the existing units to improve the tactical position of its troops. The enemy increases fire and air defense systems, and improves engineering equipment positions. In order to prevent the transfer of units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine to other areas, they conduct demonstrative actions.
The situation in the Bessarabian direction in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova remained unchanged.
In the Black and Azov Seas, ships of the russian Black Sea Fleet continue to perform tasks to isolate the area of hostilities and reconnaissance.
The General Staff noted that along almost the entire line of contact, the enemy continues to use all available artillery and aircraft to fire on the positions of Ukrainian troops, and destroy civilian and military infrastructure.
In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, the enemy continues to carry out measures of the administrative-police regime. They imitate the celebration of the so-called "Victory Day" for the russian media in some captured settlements.
The losses of the enemy exceed the personnel indicators, which significantly affects the overall moral and psychological state of troops and becomes a prerequisite for personnel to refuse to participate in hostilities against Ukraine.
