Russian troops have killed 225 children in Ukraine
Since the beginning of the war, Russian invaders have killed 225 children in Ukraine.
"As of the morning of May 8, the full-scale Russian armed invasion of Ukraine affected more than 638 children: 225 children were killed and more than 413 children were wounded," the Prosecutor General's Office posted on Telegram.
It is noted that these figures are not final as the documentation is underway in places of active hostilities, the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Most children were affected in Donetsk region – 139, Kyiv region – 116, Kharkiv region – 98, Chernihiv region – 68, Kherson region – 46, Mykolayiv region – 44, Luhansk region – 42, Zaporizhzhia region – 28, Sumy region – 17, Kyiv city – 16, Zhytomyr region – 15.
In particular, on May 7, two boys, 11 and 14, were killed and two girls, 8 and 12, were injured in a Russian shelling of the town of Pryvillia of Sievierodonetsk district of Luhansk region.
As a result of daily Russian bombings and shelling of the Ukrainian territory, 1,635 educational institutions were damaged, 126 of which were completely destroyed.
As reported, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights recorded that 3,309 civilians have been killed and 3,493 more have been injured in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
