All children, women and elderly evacuated from Azovstal plant, Deputy PM says
All children, women and the elderly have been evacuated from the Mariupol-based Azovstal plant.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, Temporary Occupied Territories Reintegration Minister Iryna Vereshchuk on Telegram.
"The President's order has been carried out: all women, children and the elderly were evacuated from the Azovstal plant. This part of the Mariupol humanitarian operation was completed," Vereshchuk wrote.
A reminder that, on May 6, 2022, a total of 50 civilians were evacuated from the Azovstal plant. Meanwhile, during the ceasefire regime, Russian invaders used an anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) and hit an evacuation vehicle intended to rescue civilians. As a result, one Azov fighter was killed and six were wounded.
In general, this week a total of 150 people have been evacuated from the Azovstal plant and more than 300 people from Mariupol and its suburbs.
