Bulgaria has agreed to repair Ukrainian military equipment
The Bulgarian Parliament has approved a decision to repair Ukrainian military equipment at defense enterprises, but the country is not providing weapons and ammunition.
The corresponding decision was made by deputies on Wednesday, BGNES writes.
The aid package includes measures to overcome the effects of economic sanctions and humanitarian, financial, and military assistance to Ukraine.
The decision also notes continued support for Ukraine's accession to the EU, assistance to Ukrainian refugees, the possibility of importing Ukrainian grain to Varna, and strengthening energy cooperation.
The decision was supported by 200 deputies, including from the pro-russian BSP party, which threatened to leave the coalition if parliament voted to provide weapons to Ukraine. Thus, the coalition in Bulgaria is preserved.
Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, known for his pro-russian statements, also opposed military aid.
The day before, he said that people who decide to help Ukraine should pay attention to the security of Bulgarians.
To recap, Slovakia has announced that it will repair and modernize Ukrainian military equipment. Earlier it was reported that the Czech Republic has agreed to repair Ukrainian tanks and armored personnel carriers damaged during the fighting.
