British PM announces new package of military aid to Ukraine worth almost £400 mln

On May 3, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will announce a new $375 million package of defense military assistance to Ukraine

This was reported in a statement by the Office of the British Prime Minister.

It is also noted in the message that specialized civil defense vehicles will be sent to Ukraine soon.

"The prime minister will today unveil a new £300m military aid package to support Ukraine's defense against russia's illegal invasion," Johnson's Office said.

It was noted there that the package will include electronic warfare equipment.

As well as an anti-battery radar system, GPS jamming equipment and thousands of night vision devices.

The Johnson Office added that in the coming weeks, the United Kingdom would also send heavy lifting systems to Ukraine to provide logistical support to the isolated forces.

And more than a dozen new specialized Toyota Landcruisers.

The cars are designed to help protect civilian officials in eastern Ukraine and evacuate civilians from frontline areas.

The British Prime Minister will announce this new package of military aid on May 3 during an address to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine live.

Johnson will be the first world leader to address the Ukrainian parliament since the start of russia's full-scale invasion.

According to the Office, Johnson will say in his address that now is a "star time" for Ukraine and that the United Kingdom is "proud to be among Ukraine's friends."
