Congressman believes Biden's visit to Ukraine is only a matter of time

Adam Schiff, the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, said it was "only a matter of time before" US President Joe Biden visits Ukraine.

CNN reports.

Adam Schiff spoke in detail about the approximately three-hour discussion of the congressional delegation in Kyiv with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Sunday.

"I think the presidential visit is under consideration, but the only question is how soon it will be possible," Schiff said.

He noted that the delegation didn't discuss the issue during a conversation with Biden on Sunday.

According to him, the meeting with Zelenskyy focused on priorities for further assistance, especially as Ukrainians enter a new phase of the war with more concentrated fighting in the eastern part of the country.

Subsequently, members of the delegation provided Biden with information and recommendations.

"We have had a detailed discussion of the next phase of the war. It is moving from a phase when Ukrainians ambushed russian tanks–it was close combat–to more long-range combat, using long-range artillery, and this changes the nature of what Ukraine needs for protection," said the head of the intelligence committee.

Schiff said that various issues were discussed, including that Ukraine should receive the necessary military equipment and receive it quickly.

Schiff said that the members of the delegation at the meeting wanted to convey a message of support to Zelenskyy because if russia succeeds in its invasion, it will not stop at Ukraine.
