Russian aggression: 404 children already injured amid invasion
In Ukraine, as a result of full-scale armed aggression launched by Russia, 219 children were killed and 404 – injured.
That's according to the Prosecutor General's Office.
"So far, 623 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of May 1, the official number of children killed has not changed. It's 219. The number of injured has increased – now it's 404," the statement reads.
The prosecutor's office notes that these figures are not final.
The largest number of affected children was recorded in the regions of Donetsk (139), Kyiv (115), Kharkiv (95), Chernihiv (68), Kherson (44), Mykolaiv (43), Luhansk (37), Zaporizhia (27), Sumy (17), the city of Kyiv (16), and Zhytomyr region (15).
On April 29-30, as a result of Russian shelling of Dobropillya, Drobysheve township in Kramatorsk district, and the village of Vremivka, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region, five children were injured.
On April 28 due to artillery shelling of Liubymivka, Beryslav district, Kherson region, a local girl, 12, sustained injuries
As a result of daily bombings and shelling of Ukrainian towns and villages by the Russian armed forces, 1,570 educational facilities were damaged, of which 111 were completely destroyed.
