Estonia sent experts in demining to Ukraine

Estonia sends a team of demining specialists to Ukraine, which will constantly help Ukrainian colleagues on a rotating basis

European Pravda writes about it by referring to ERR.

According to the media outlet, each team consists of 5 people with three cars.

They will be replaced periodically by other colleagues. 

Ukraine's interior minister said that Estonian specialists will help in areas where there are many mines and unexploded ordnance left, but there are no more active hostilities.

As reported by Rubryka, Estonia has provided the greatest assistance to Ukraine among all countries in the world taking into account the GDP.

Since the start of the military aggression against Ukraine, Estonia has promised aid amounting to almost 0.8% of its own GDP. It is followed by Poland with less than 0.2% and Lithuania with less than 0.1%.

In monetary terms, the largest commitments were made by the United States – about EUR7.6 bln

They are followed by Poland, Great Britain and Germany.

According to the institute, all EU countries together have promised assistance of about 2.9 billion euros, plus 1.4 billion euros from the EU institutions and 2 billion euros from the European Investment Bank.

Also, Estonia accommodated about 30,000 Ukrainians because of the war.
