russia does not want to hold special talks on Mariupol, Adviser Podoliak reports

Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President, Mykhailo Podoliak, states that Russia does not want to hold talks on Mariupol for the safe exit of people from Azovstal and does not react to the offer to exchange Ukrainian fighters for Viktor Medvedchuk, the father of vladimir putin's godchild.

Mykhailo Podoliak stated this in an interview with Radio Svoboda.

"Of course, the chances (for a special round – ed.) remain. For us, the focus would be to take our people out: not only civilians but also the military, who are today a symbol of the invincibility of Ukraine.

The russian federation aims to destroy Mariupol as a whole… Unfortunately, the russian federation is still ignoring all this (proposals to release civilians and soldiers in the city – ed.), because the russians are currently losing everything in terms of reputation. Therefore, for them, as I understand, it doesn't matter whether they kill a thousand civilians or 10,000," he said.

Apparently, the fate of Medvedchuk does not help in the issue of Mariupol.

According to Podoliak, Medvedchuk was "branded" in Ukraine by someone as an influential and important person for the russian federation, "and it turned out that they basically did not need him."
