Land lease will help Ukraine overcome the ideological successors of Nazis, Zelenskyy says

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the lease would help Ukraine overcome the ideological successors of the Nazis.

This is stated in his address on the 65th day of the war.

"I am grateful to the United States, President Biden and Congress for an analog of the famous Land-Lease program that helped greatly in the fight against the Nazis during World War II. I am sure that now the lease will help Ukraine and the whole free world to overcome the ideological successors of the Nazis, who started the war against us. Land lease and other programs to support Ukraine are concrete proof that freedom still knows how to defend itself against tyranny," Zelenskyy stressed.

Earlier, Zelenskyy thanked the President of the United States Joseph Biden and all the American people for their leadership in helping Ukraine in the fight against russian aggression.

It should be noted that US President Joe Biden said that he had proposed to the United States Congress to approve a new package of responses to russia's aggression, which provides for the allocation of $33 billion to support Ukraine.

On April 28, the US House of Representatives supported a bill on land lease and protection of democracy in Ukraine.

On April 7, the document was approved by the US Senate. The law will take effect after it is signed by President Joe Biden.

In early April, the US Senate unanimously passed a law allowing Biden to use the land lease program to expedite the transfer of weapons, military equipment, medicines, food, etc. to Ukraine. It is assumed that the recipient country will pay their cost later.
