"Oil fuels war": Greenpeace activists blocked russian tanker in Norway
Environmental activists Greenpeace and Extinction Rebellion are blocking the arrival of the Ust-Luga oil tanker with russian oil products at a sea terminal in Norway.
This was reported by the Greenpeace press service on April 25.
Protesters are demanding that Norway stop importing oil from russia and ban the unloading of the tanker. It is alleged that the ship, registered in Hong Kong, was leased by the russian company Novatek. The tanker is currently loaded with 95,000 tons of aviation gas.
Environmental activists chained their inflatable boat to the tanker's anchor chain to prevent it from entering the port. Other activists, who came to the ship in kayaks, hold placards reading: "Oil fuels war."
It is noted that the police prevented some participants from reaching Ust-Luha by water.
Greenpeace has sent letters to the Norwegian government demanding an immediate halt to all imports and trade in russian oil and gas.
