Enemy fires missiles at Odesa, rescue operation underway

Russian troops have launched missile strikes on the Black Sea port city of Odesa. A rescue operation is now underway. The regional military administration urges not to post photos and videos from the sites of strikes and not to report exact locations.

The spokesman for the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Bratchuk, broke the news on Telegram.

"Trying to report as soon as possible the fallout of missile strikes on cities and various objects across our country, citizens, media and bloggers often rush to post videos on social networks and name the exact locations of enemy strikes. A rescue operation is underway! If someone isn't saved, this will be your fault!" Bratchuk warned.

He stressed that this only helps the enemy to adjust their following strikes.

Meanwhile, Operational Command South later issued a more detailed statement on the strike.

"Today, April 23, from 14:00 to 15:00, air defense units of the South Air Command performed combat operations to destroy enemy cruise missiles launched by Russia's TU-95 strategic aircraft from the Caspian Sea," the statement said.

It is noted that the effort destroyed two enemy cruise missiles (presumable X555 or X101), which had been launched at Odesa, and 2 operational and tactical-level UAVs, which had presumably adjusted the cruise missiles' trajectory and created obstacles for air defense.

"Unfortunately, two missiles hit a military facility and another two – residential buildings," the press service said.

Earlier, the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security also reported on Telegram that Russian missiles hit infrastructure facilities in Odessa, but no details were provided about the victims.
