Digital Ministry: Starlink Internet is allowed to be used in Ukraine during martial law
In Ukraine, everyone was allowed to use the Internet from Starlink during martial law
Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov announced this, Rubryka reports.
According to the head, the decision was made by the National Commission for State Regulation of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum, and Provision of Postal Services.
Previously, only the military was allowed to use Starlink.
To recap, the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov addressed Elon Musk on February 26 with a request to provide Ukraine with Starlink.
As reported by Rubryka, the businessman agreed and sent the first 500 Starlink stations in a week.
According to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, currently, more than 10,000 stations help the Ukrainian Armed Forces to keep in touch and carry out special operations.
They also support the operation of critical energy and telecommunications facilities, health care facilities, and even the sowing campaign, as well as bring the liberated areas back to life.
Internet quality from Starlink in eastern Ukraine is worse than in the west because Ukraine doesn't yet have its own Starlink ground station.
The nearest stations are in Poland, Lithuania, and Turkey. Ukraine plans to build one after the war.
