Foreign Minister Kuleba met with President of Bulgaria, who considers Crimea to be russian

Continuing his visit to Sofia, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, met with President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev

According to Rubryka, he announced this on his Twitter.

"We discussed ways to restore peace and development in the Black Sea region.

We also agreed on the need to strengthen supply chains for agricultural products in order to sustain global food security," Dmytro Kuleba wrote.

To recap, the day before, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine met with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Kiril Petkov.

As reported by the media, Rumen Radev is known for his pro-russian positions.

During a debate before the presidential election in the autumn of 2021, which he won, Radev said he considered Crimea to be russian territory and EU anti-russian sanctions ineffective.

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the Ambassador of Bulgaria to Kyiv Kostadin Kojabashev.

Radev then repeated his words about "russian Crimea," although he acknowledged that the annexation was a violation of international law.

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called the president's remarks a blow to Ukrainian-Bulgarian relations.

Radev's press service later clarified his position, noting that he recognized the legal affiliation of the peninsula to Ukraine and meant russia's de facto control over Crimea.
