Romania will hand over weapons to Ukraine from its own reserves
Romania will hand over weapons to Ukraine from the reserves of some institutions of the national defense system.
Romania Libera reported this.
This decision will be made possible by amending Romanian law. In this regard, the Ministry of National Defense has prepared a draft emergency resolution. The future normative act will amend Government Order 122/1998. Resolution 122 regulated "the accumulation, withdrawal, and renewal of the national defense forces' own reserves."
The text of the draft states that this is necessary in the context of russia's military invasion of Ukraine. After approval of this document, Romania will be able to supply products from military reserves to allied or partner countries.
As you know, Ukraine is not an ally, but a NATO partner.
Products transferred by Romania will come from the reserves of several defense agencies.
Earlier, Ukraine called on NATO countries to donate or sell weapons. Most likely, Ukraine will be offered weapons made in the former Soviet Union, which the Ukrainian military is very good at using.
