Bundestag again criticized Scholz for the lack of supplies of heavy weapons to Ukraine

The Head of the Bundestag's defense committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, once again criticized Chancellor Olaf Scholz and asked him to commit to supplying heavy weapons to Ukraine.

This was reported by Spiegel.

"The chancellor is still not really saying what he wants, and I am very sorry about that," said a member of the Free Democratic Party, which is part of the ruling coalition.

"I just think we just don't have time for discussions. It's about Ukraine, but it's also about us in Europe," Strack-Zimmerman said.

Strack-Zimmermann said that she was pleased that Scholz had expressed a desire to give Ukraine more money, but "you can't win the war with money, you need weapons."

"And in this regard, I would like the Federal Chancellor to make it clear again that there is money, and that Germany is ready to supply heavy weapons," she added.

Earlier, German Agriculture Minister Jem Ozdemir said that russia was deliberately attacking agriculture in Ukraine, so arms supplies to Ukraine should be increased to prevent global famine.
