EU to allocate additional EUR50 mln to Ukraine for humanitarian needs
EU allocates another 50 million euros in humanitarian funding to support people affected by russia's war against Ukraine
It is reported by the press service of the EU Council on Sunday, European Pravda writes.
According to the report, EUR45 million are provided for humanitarian projects in Ukraine and 5 million euros – in Moldova.
Hence, the total amount of funding for EU humanitarian aid in response to the war reaches 143 million euros.
The funding is part of a € 1 billion support package promised by the European Commission at a global event last week.
The new funding should meet the most urgent humanitarian needs, including :
- provision of emergency medical care,
- access to safe drinking water and hygiene,
- shelter and protection,
- financial assistance,
- support against gender-based violence.
